My first Miranda by Lazy Girl

On Sunday night Jen came over and used me as a test subject for a class she's going to give on the Miranda Day Bag. I had so much fun making it even though it's not finished yet. I just love the fabric I picked out and now the biggest decision is what type of handles am I going to use. The bag to this point went together quite easy. I've made a few other Lazy Girl designs but I think this was the easiest one yet. When I'm done I'm going to put on some jewels to jazz it up a bit. I even added purse feet to the bottom of then bag. You can't tell the pattern on the blue but it's a yellow flower and the inside is the same yellow. I've been trying for days to download these pictures but blogger was having some fits. I just tried again to download the inside but sorry no luck. When I'm finished with the bag I'll post completed pictures. I already have ideas running through my head for the next atleast 3 that I want to make myself.
I've been asked to explain what I figured out where the purse feet are concerned. In the pattern it would have you completely close up the bottom and then first put on the feet. I asked why? So, instead of pushing the feet through all the layers I pushed mine through the bottom, folded back the prongs and then closed up the bottom. That way nothing shows. Thanks for asking.

Life with Miranda

I've had my new Miranda Day Bag from Lazy Girl for a couple of days now and thought I should write about my experiences with her. For any of you who don't know my daughter Jen made Miranda for me for Christmas. I got to pick out her main fabric and that of course was lots of fun. Anyway the first day I used her I had everything in her and only used her pockets with just two little bags in the center of the purse. I was leaving for work and had my lunch, keys, gloves and only two hands. OK throw the lunch in Miranda and out the door I went. Stopped and picked up breakfast on my way to work. I was in the drive through lane and when I went to pay the nice lady at the window commented on my purse and asked where I bought it. I beamed and said my daughter made it for me for Christmas. She wanted to know if my daughter would like to be adopted? Then on to work I go. Now I have my purse with the lunch in it, my breakfast in a bag and a large soda. OK the breakfast bag goes in the Miranda too. In the door I go and one of the ladies I work with spots Miranda. Wow this bag is popular. Everyone has to look at her, hold her and of course look inside of her. They are all amazed at how much room she has and yet how organized it all is. Later the ladies in the office get a chance to look her over. She's an instant hit there too. Everywhere I go she gets looked at. My hair stylist tonight wanted to know if Jen was taking orders. The only thing I need to make is something small just to put my change in. I have a habit of tossing my change in the bottom of my purse and I don't want to do that to Miranda. So, life with her has been awesome. Thanks Jen, Miranda is very popular.........

My old posts are moved

Last night Jen helped me out and moved the last of my old posts. I don't have the old pictures but I can always transfer those later on. I'm going to just go ahead and make this a fresh start in my new home.

Let me tell you why we went ahead and transferred everything right away. There was a response from my other blog where I said why I was moving. It was of course posted by . "anonymous" and that person didn't like the idea that I wasn't happy at the other blog site. She proceeded to tell me all about how the owner of the blog pays for it out of her own pocket and has never asked for anything from anyone for the blog. I still don't feel that gives anyone the right to without our knowledge change our personal blogs. So, here on Google is where I'm going to stay. I'll go ahead and continuously read thte other blog sites since I've made many friends there but this is now " Blog Home" for me.

Now on to sewing since that is now said. I haven't been doing any lately. All I've been doing since last weekend is working on my yo yo garland. I have a Lazy Girl purse cut out and started the Veronica but I haven't gotton past the first step where you quilt the fabric. I have so many projects running through my head it isn't funny so I'm having a hard time focusing on anything. Do the rest of you get like that? I want to finish my purse, work on my 2 BOM squares and I need to start on Christmas and soon since it's already September. I guess I need to kick myself in the butt and get going. Keep your fingers crossed that I do some sewing soon.
