First day back at work

Today was my first day back to work since I clunked my head last week. I knew it was going to be a nightmare and it certainly didn't let me down. First I had to deal with the snow and ice on my way to work. I just want it to be known I'm sick and tired of all the snow we've had this winter. If I never see that white stuff again I'll be happy. If I could pack it all up and send it to Kristie who wants snow I certainly would.

I have your typical work station with an L shaped desk and a computer in the corner so there's lots of desk top space. When I got to work and turned the corner and saw my desk I wanted to turn around and go home. There was not one spot on my desk that didn't have papers stacked up on it. It was a nightmare of all nightmares. The bare minimum was done during the 5 days I was home. OK so I started to go through everything and to be honest I still don't have a handle on what it all is. From 7 to 8:30 I'm just seperating stacks of paper. At 8:30 I go to my first meeting of the day ( I hate meetings) and my boss wants to know if I'm done with everything yet? Excuse me, I had to bite my tongue to keep from asking her if she's F-----g nuts. After that meeting I dive in and keep plugging away. After only a few entries on the computer it's time for my first motion pill. By then I'm thinking this is going to be one very long day. Then it's the afternoon and we have another meeting to discuss my plan for getting caught up. What plan, just leave me alone to keep plugging away on everything. By Friday they said I have to be caught up because my month end is Monday and Tuesday. So the heck with the fact that typing makes me want to throw up, my concentration stinks and I'm fuming just keep on plugging away. I think it's time for a change of jobs. I'd love to work for people who actually care about a person if there is such a place out there. Any and all suggestions are welcome.
The good news is I'm making a block for my first BOM and this is the last block I need to make. I'm not going to finish it tonight but hey it's a start. Oh, and it'still snowing out.

There is a place out there some where that people actually care. If I was close enough I would hide outside and when you took your break you could bring me some things to organize for you .. do you think they would notice?

I know how you feel. Hope you get to feeling better and they don't push you too far. When I was gone for my brothers wedding they left it all for me to do when I got back and then asked if maybe they should hire someone else. I said well if you let me catch up I'll get it all done and there isn't enough for two people normally. I was mad.

I hate to hear that you had such a rough day! I used to work at a place that was the same way. When I was gone, nothing was done! Just take it easy and don't upset yourself over it.

Snow!!! They were calling for snow here last night and tonight. They even cancelled school for today! But no snow!! It is raining right now!

Wish I could help you, too. You can only do what you can do and no more. I'm sorry you have to go through all this. Hang in there. That block looks wonderful too!

at one of my previous jobs, I was a payroll/benefits/HR administrator. my grandmother passed away in january and the funeral was to be held in ohio (so she could be laid to rest with her husband and family). my family, bless them, opted to move the funeral and services to february because my work would NOT let me leave for the services, which were over the weekend. apparently payroll was going to be due, and no one else knew how to do it. I was going to be gone a friday, saturday, and sunday. payroll was due wednesdays. the same thing happened a month later when my uncle passed. he was only in new york... but had to fight to get them to let me leave. same reasoning. I had a new job by the end of may of the same year.

in my opinion, they don't deserve your hard work and talents! it may take time, but it'll be worth it! good luck to you!

It's time to update that resume and start browsing; even if you don't decide to leave, at least you are ready to go.
